Smoothie Recipe with Protein, Seeds, Fruits & Vegetables

What’s in my morning smoothie recipe?

This recipe was originally inspired by Rich Roll, in his book Finding Ultra. Rich indicates it originates with Brendan Brazier, Co-Founder of Vega Nutrition, in his book Thrive.

When I first posted this picture on Instagram, my cousin Claudia said I should become a blogger so I decided to write this blog post, albeit a few weeks later.

Rich has, at times been way more hardcore than I typically am about the “whole food, plant based” thing than I. So to make this work, I take some shortcuts, like the Costco Smoothie pack. Ours is also not 100% Vegan because we include Collagen Protein on the advice of Angie’s brother Dr. Nick Thompson, a New Orleans Chiropractor.

When you total up the ingredients they come to about 800 calories and 40 grams of protein.

If you believe my Garmin data that’s about 1/3 of my daily caloric needs and about half of my protein needs. Often times I will push back my daily smoothie until lunch time, along with a couple handfuls of nuts and that will hold me until dinner.
